What is Pombu
Pombu is a worldwide film library of independent creators: micro-dramas, short and feature films, fairy tales for children and music videos. You watch for free, with no ads and no subscription, and you do not need an account to watch.
In Pombu Studio, creators generate characters, places, frames, voices and video from their own instructions, or upload a film they shot themselves. Creator access is free; you only pay for generation, using credits.
Test version for iPhone
Pombu for iPhone is in preparation. When the test version is ready, we will publish the link at pombu.com/ios.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account to watch?
No. Open the app and watch. The app creates an anonymous guest session by itself, so you can like, save films, follow creators and continue where you left off. We do not ask for your e-mail or name.
Is Pombu really free?
Yes. Watching, likes, saving and following creators are free, with no ads and no subscription. Creators pay only for generating films, using credits.
How do I become a creator?
In the app, create an account by entering your e-mail address and accept the Terms of Use. You can create an account if you are at least 16. Then open Pombu Studio. Access is free; you only need credits for generation.
How do I sign in? I have no password.
Pombu does not use passwords. Enter your e-mail and we will send you a sign-in code or link. The code is valid for a few minutes. If you do not see the e-mail, check your Spam or Promotions folder and make sure you entered the address correctly.
What are credits and how do they work?
Credits pay for generation in Pombu Studio: characters, places, frames, voices and video. You buy them in packs through the App Store and see the price before buying. The app shows how many credits a step will use before you start it.
Credits do not expire while Pombu is running. They cannot be transferred to another account or exchanged for money.
A generation failed. Do I lose my credits?
No. When you start a generation, credits are only reserved. If it fails, they are returned to you automatically. If you do not see them back, send us the project name and the approximate time.
How do I ask for a refund?
Purchases are processed by Apple, so you request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot refund payments ourselves, but we are happy to help with any problem in the app.
Can I upload a film I shot myself?
Yes. You must hold the rights to everything in the film, including the music, and have the consent of the people who appear in it. Set the category and age rating. If the film contains generated or realistically altered parts, label it.
How does the ChatGPT link work?
Open ChatGPT, add the Pombu app and sign in with your Pombu account (confirm in the Pombu app or use the code from your e-mail). ChatGPT can then create your projects, stories, characters and shot lists in Pombu Studio. Step-by-step guide: pombu.com/chatgpt.
Pombu receives only what you send through the Pombu app in ChatGPT, not your other conversations. Anything that costs credits shows the price first and waits for your confirmation. You can disconnect at any time in ChatGPT settings. Details in the Privacy Policy.
Why does an export have the Pombu logo?
An exported film carries the Pombu logo and pombu.com so viewers know where it comes from. Generated films also carry a synthetic content label required by the EU Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act, Art. 50). Do not remove these marks.
How do I report a film or a creator?
On the film or the creator’s profile, choose Report and pick a reason. A person on our team reviews the report within 24 hours. We do not reveal your identity to the creator, except where strictly necessary, for example for a copyright claim. You can also report by e-mail to support@pombu.tv with a link to the content.
How do I block someone?
On the creator’s profile, choose Block. Their films will no longer be shown to you. You can unblock them at any time.
How do I report illegal content or a copyright infringement?
Send to support@pombu.tv a link to the content, an explanation of why you consider it illegal or infringing your rights, your name and e-mail, and a statement that you are providing the information in good faith. More in the Terms of Use, section 13.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, open Library → Profile and settings → Delete account. This deletes the account and your personal data, and we remove your published films from Pombu. Unused credits are forfeited. If you cannot sign in, write to us from the e-mail you use on Pombu.
How do I get a copy of my data?
Write to support@pombu.tv from the e-mail of your account. We will send you a copy within one month at the latest. More in the Privacy Policy.
